Spoons

Having pursued a passion for Greenwood crafts for many years, in 2012 I began to carve wooden spoons…..and started a personal project “365 Spoons”, carving one spoon each day for a year. It was an interesting and transformative time……

Carved wooden spoons are made from carefully selected stem and branch wood, split along the grain of the log and worked with an axe, knife and hooked knife. It becomes a wonderful and intimate process, and a very close connection to the materials trees offer.

…here are a selection of spoons I carved on that year long adventure.
